Characters & Worlds
Characters and worlds developed from first sketch to finished frame, across traditional and digital media, now extended through hybrid, AI-augmented methods.
The Claiming | Original IP · Illustration
An astronaut stands atop a cracked, tentacle-wrapped sphere, staking a claim on something that may be about to claim him back. This original pen-and-ink illustration became the seed for my short film Starfisher, about space miners who discover the “asteroids” they’ve been drilling are giant eggs.

Sprocketz | Original IP · Look Development
Battling the future’s greatest villains while trying to get their homework done. This is original look development for Sprocketz, a possible short aimed at a tween audience. The frame tests how the idea could look on screen: heroic but kid-relatable character styling, a palette with energy, and a team dynamic readable at a glance, balancing action-adventure scale with the everyday stakes that make young audiences root for the characters.

Toybot | Original IP · Character Design
A toy-like robot with a two-tone shell and a curious streak, designed as a cousin to my Scotz Botz characters. Its simple, rounded build was made to move, and this design led directly to video tests exploring how the character walks, reacts and carries personality through motion. Here it meets a bee in a sunlit field of flowers.

50-YARD DASH | Illustration in Motion
An original digital painting that went on to become a working tool. Beyond standing on its own as an illustration, it served as my test bed for animation looks: a single fixed image I could run through different traditional-animation styles to see which kept the painterly character intact once it started moving. That’s the kind of style decision a production locks in before a single frame is made. The motion study it led to is on Film & Video.

Squatimals Series Bible Cover | Client: Stephen David Entertainment
Pages from the series bible for Squatimals, an animated television series about super-squat creatures living in the Lost-and-Found Box deep within MooMoo Forest. For Stephen David Entertainment, I built the entire bible: character and world design, storyboards and animatics for the premiere episode, first-season plots, the premiere script, style samples, an initial marketing and licensing plan, and the pitch package the studio took to its agents.

Wolf Hill | Original IP · Character Design
A werewolf running with the pack, silhouetted against a blazing sunset as man and wolf move as one. This original design was built for a short animation test, and the bold silhouettes and graphic color keep the motion readable at a glance while showing how the character shifts between upright stride and four-legged run.

Walrus Pencil | Original IP · Traditional Illustration
A weathered cosmonaut, rendered entirely in graphite, with every crease and whisker built up by hand while something tentacled curls around his helmet. A study in traditional draftsmanship that shows the drawing skills underneath all the digital work.

Factory Bot | Original IP · Illustration
A boxy, many-armed factory robot caught mid-task, its camera-eye scanning the floor below. A design built on function and personality: every limb looks like it does a job, and the whole machine still feels like a character.

An armored desert racer tearing across the dunes in a plume of sand. An original vehicle design built for speed and punishment, with angular plating and oversized suspension that tell you exactly what terrain it was made for.

Dragon | Original IP · Creature Design
The master design for the dragon in my Storytelling demo reel. Every horn, scale and tooth was set in this base image first, giving the creature a fixed, detailed reference so it stayed consistent once it moved into motion. It’s the kind of locked-down creature design a production builds from.
